Windows INF File Installation for OTUSB and T3
This guide explains how to install the INF driver for OpenTracker USB and Tracker3 devices. The procedure works on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows, including Windows 7.
⚠️ Windows 8 requires signed drivers. Currently, there are no signed drivers for OTUSB and T3, but you can temporarily disable driver signature enforcement by following these instructions.
Installation Steps
- Plug in the OpenTracker USB and open Device Manager.
- Under Other devices, locate an Unknown device.
Right-click it and select Properties to confirm the device has VID 134A, PID 9000.
- Close the Properties dialog. Then, right-click the device and select Update Driver Software.
- Select Browse my computer for driver software, and navigate to the folder containing the
OpenTrackerUSB_Windows7.inf
file.
- Click Next. The driver may take a minute or two to install.
- After installation, refresh Device Manager to see the Tracker listed under Ports (COM & LPT).
You can change the COM port: - Right-click the Tracker and choose Properties - Select the Port Settings tab - Click Advanced - Choose a new COM port from the drop-down list
