This product has been discontinued. Information is provided for reference only.

The original OpenTracker was discontinued when the Freescale MC908KX8 microcontroller ceased production. The current OTWINCFG utility still functions with the OT1 and allows configuration and firmware updates.

Using the 'web' button from the OTWINCFG utility is the preferred way to load firmware files, but direct links are provided here to allow downloading for use offline.

OpenTracker 1 Revision History

All circuit boards have the revision number printed on the board, usually in the lower right corner. The OpenTracker optionally came in a translucent case, with several color choices, and was the only series to use a colored case.

  • Revision 1: Only 20–25 units produced, no voltage measurement capability.
  • Revision 2: Three variations marked "Rev 2", with trace differences. Green PCB.
  • Revision 3: Added TTL-level carrier detect input, improved PCB layout. Black PCB.
  • Revision 4: Used 2N7000 FETs instead of 2N3904. Larger voltage regulator with 5V GPS power. Red PCB.

OpenTracker 1x (OT1x)

The OT1x was the second OpenTracker variant produced. It featured a longer circuit board to fit the PacTec CNS-0101 case. The case is opaque with a hole for the LED. It was replaced by the OpenTracker+ due to discontinued parts.

Three revisions were made, with revision numbers on the boards. Revisions were mechanical or part substitutions.

Improvements over OT1: - Larger voltage regulator - Jumper-selected output voltage - Jumper-selectable PTT and audio level - 1-Wire data bus accessible via serial connector

OpenTracker 1m

The OT1m was the third hardware variant. It added: - 2.1mm power jack - RJ-11 for 1-wire devices - Optional 9A/20A high-side switch to control radio power

It was designed for a custom metal case.
